Guyana, a vibrant country in South America nestled in the Caribbean, covers about 214,969 square kilometers. It is celebrated for its rich cultural diversity and vibrant traditions.
Today, many Guyanese love spending their leisure time at the malls, whether it is catching a movie or exploring the food courts.
You might be curious about why the malls have become such an important part of Guyanese life.
Interestingly, the first successful shopping mall in Guyana opened on July 15th, 2015. Located at Plantation Turkeyen on the East Coast of Demerara, this mall embodies a commitment to “Immaculate Customer Service, Quality Products, and a Memorable Experience” for all visitors.
We Service Our Customers – Here’s How…
Giftland Mall is one of Guyana’s premier businesses, playing a key role in shaping the country’s tourism and hospitality industries.
It offers a wide variety of services and products, from dining options and clothing stores to hardware outlets, supermarkets, household supplies, and much more.
At its core, Giftland Mall’s main goal is to deliver exceptional customer service and great value on everything it offers, making it a favorite destination for both locals and visitors alike.
The End Results?
Customers are left with a magical experience of a great time with adequate access to any form of necessity.
The Giftland mall operates from 10am Eastern time to 8pm, allowing many customers the opportunity to shop and have an unforgettable memory.
Yes We’ve Had Our Challenges Too…
In any business, it’s pretty common to encounter setbacks or unexpected challenges that can disrupt operations or affect customer experience.
Giftland Mall is no exception to this reality. Like many growing establishments, they’ve faced their fair share of hurdles, particularly with traffic access and infrastructure issues.
Before the recent development of the new road and parking lot, the situation was quite challenging for visitors and shoppers alike. Many Guyanese residents experienced heavy traffic congestion, especially around the nearby Arthur Chung Convention Center.
There were numerous roadblocks in the area, which made it difficult for customers to reach the Giftland Mall easily. This not only caused frustration for shoppers but also led to a noticeable decline in foot traffic and parking availability at the mall.
As a result, the business saw a dip in customers, which naturally impacted sales and overall operations. These kinds of challenges are a normal part of growth and development, but they also highlight the importance of infrastructure improvements.
Giftland Mall – Has Changed The Game!
To address these challenges, Giftland Mall took proactive steps to improve the customer experience. One of their innovative solutions was to assign a driver to wait at the front of the road, helping to alleviate the transportation access to entering the mall. This small but thoughtful service offered shoppers a sense of relief and convenience, something that no other mall in Guyana currently provides.
It really shows their commitment to putting customer comfort first. More recently, Giftland has undertaken significant infrastructural improvements as well. They’ve developed a new two-way lane leading into the mall, ensuring smooth traffic flow in both directions.
This development has made it easier for visitors to access the mall without the usual congestion. Additionally, they’ve partnered with services like the growing taxi network, Book A Ride, to offer even more convenient transportation options for shoppers.
Giftland Mall isn’t just a shopping center; it’s a space that fosters community and relaxation. It provides a safe and comfortable environment where citizens can unwind and enjoy their leisure time. With multiple access points to transportation, ATMs, a supermarket, and even the Caribbean Cinema, it truly serves as a hub for entertainment and daily needs.
If you ever find yourself visiting Guyana, Giftland Mall is definitely worth a visit.
It’s not just a shopping destination but also a wonderful place to experience the local culture and crafts, truly a reflection of the land of Many Waters.
